The Owlcar was Nite Owl II's personal automotive vehicle.
History[]
The Owlcar was designed by Dan Dreiberg[1] and was completed on December 3, 1964 on a budget of $55,000.[2] Dreiberg used this vehicle during his crimefighting career as Nite Owl II. Following the passage of the Keene Act, Dreiberg retired from vigilantism and the Owlcar would go unused, though he maintained it in his basement to keep his nostalgia and memories alive.[1]
Capabilities[]
The Owlcar is an all-purpose, all-terrain vehicle equally efficient for both urban street use and rugged country terrain. It seats four people and can travel at speeds of 100 MPH.
The vehicle features a rear detention seat for housing dangerous criminals, can link up to the main computer of the Owl's Nest, has a remote control unit allowing the vehicle to be piloted remotely from up to a mile away, and has a good security system. The Owlcar also features front mounted machine guns loadable with rubber bullets.
The vehicle's tires are armored against damage, as Nite Owl II anticipated that standard tires would be inadequate.[2]
