Nostalgia-ad

Nostalgia is a pharmaceutical drug created by Trieu Industries.

History[]

Nostalgia was manufactured by Trieu Pharmaceuticals, a division of Trieu Industries. The drug was targeted primarily for elderly people with failing memories who would like to relive those memories in a therapeutically appropriate way. The drug was a success and it made Lady Trieu a billionaire. However, had adverse side effects because putting memories in pill form leads to psychosis and people started abusing the drug to the point of overdose. Trieu Industries had the drug recalled and the Food, Drug and Technology Administration had the drug banned.

Description[]

Nostalgia is an all-natural drug that relieves anxiety, dementia, and psychic trauma. It turns memories of the users' choice into tablets that allows the user to experience them "in the most lucid way possible." Memories were converted at licensed Trieu clinics and each tablet can contain 1-5 memories. They are color-coded with red being the most intense. The pills are specifically tailored to the brain chemistry of the user, so it is dangerous to take someone else's pills. Taking someone else's Nostalgia erodes the boundary between self and other and gives the user hyperactive empathy and fight-or-flight responses, as well as paranoia, temporal disorientation, and emotional triggering. In rare cases, it can worsen anxiety, depression, forgetfulness, dementia, and suicidal thoughts. Overdosing may cause cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, sleeping sickness, and catatonia. Overdose victims would also go into a coma and would be required to get their medical consent to have their stomach pumped to get the drugs out. Sometimes they would start talking, particularly when the pills are not the subject's own memories, but someone else's. Side effects include but not limited to mild cases of fever, chills nausea, insomnia, sleepwalking, and déjà vu.
