The National News Network is a state-run telecommunications network established by the United States on November 22nd, 1993.

History[]

In the wake of the unraveling of global stability by the revelations surrounding Ozymandias, the United States and the rest of the world was thrown into a state of chaos, and the civil liberties which were once treasured there were rescinded one by one by the Redford Administration in an attempt to enforce order. To that end, the U.S. Government set up a state-run news organization known as the National News Network, to be helmed by William F. Buckley Jr.

All independent broadcasts were cut off the night of November 22nd 1993 and replaced by the National News Network. In its first broadcast, Buckley Jr. announced that the Russian Federation had invaded Poland, and that the United States would be launching a full retaliatory response in four hours if the troops were not withdrawn. They issued information for what to do in preparation for the conflagration that was about to take place, including evacuation orders and emergency numbers. As the night went on, they repeatedly refuted any claim by foreign press that the Russian advance had halted, and told the citizens of the United States not to believe anyone but them.[1]
