The Miss Jupiter is a Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, named after Sally Jupiter.
History[]
On August 6, 1945, during the final stages of World War II, Paul Tibbets and Robert A. Lewis piloted the Miss Jupiter to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan.[1][2]
Trivia[]
- The Miss Jupiter is featured only in the introduction of the 2009 live-action adaptation of Watchmen and replaces the historical Enola Gay.
