Linette Paley was an avant-garde composer.
Biography[]
Linette Paley disappeared from the public in 1983, approximately two months after the disappearance of Max Shea. Because Paley suffered from depression and suicidal tendencies, the disappearance came not as a surprise to the general public, but New Frontiersman connected it with the disappearance of Shea and other creative figures around the same time.[1]
Paley was taken to the Veidt's island to work with the other vanished creatives on a secret project. When a cargo ship affiliated with Pyramid Deliveries came to take them back to the mainland, she smiled, which Shea took notice of. Paley was killed along with the others from a bomb that was planted on the ship.[2]
Trivia[]
- The Book of Rorschach, an in-universe album by the fictional band Sons of Pale Horse, credits Ronnie Linette Paley (a direct relative of Linette Paley) with mixing and engineering of the album.[3]
- The Book of Rorschach's biographical blurb about Seymour David, the New Frontiersman's editorial assistant who discovered Rorschach's journal from the crank file at the end of the original series, wrote an essay about one of Linette's compositions, entitled Suction Cups for Strings.[3]
