Hector Godfrey is the editor-in-chief at the right-wing daily newspaper, the New Frontiersman.

Biography[]

Hector Godfrey is known to be a champion of masked vigilantism, with the exception of the liberal Ozymandias, not in spite of their perceived fascist tendencies but because of them. After the arrest of Walter Kovacs, it was discovered that he bundled past issues of the New Frontiersman in his apartment and Godfrey was asked for a comment. Godfrey stated that Rorschach should perhaps be reassessed as a patriot and a true American.

On January 1, 1987, Godfrey complained how there was no longer nothing to write about since the destruction of New York City and the peace accord between the United States and the Soviet Union. Seymour David suggests that they should write a piece about Robert Redford's possible run for office in 1988, Godfrey dismisses the pitch, but tells him to choose something out of the crank file, leaving it entirely in his hands.

After Rorschach's journal was discovered by Seymour, Godfrey tried multiple times to confirm the journal’s authenticity, including trying to gain access to the first Rorschach journal to compare them, but was thwarted by the government. On March 21, 1987, he began publishing excerpts anyway.

Godfrey published the contents of Rorschach's journal in the New Frontiersman, and while it was accepted as truth by some members of the public, the majority of news publications rejected it as right-wing tabloid sensationalism. By 2019, Godfrey is still shown to be active as editor of New Frontiersman, where in a recent article he rails against President Robert Redford's nomination of another liberal judge into the Supreme Court and shouts supports for Mitch McConnell, Rush Limbaugh, and Joe Keene for President in 2020.
