Home Box Office (more commonly known by its abbreviation, HBO) is an American premium cable network owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. It launched on April 8, 1972 by Charles Dolan. HBO is the oldest subscription television service in the USA still in operation, as well as the country's first cable-originated television network. HBO shows theatrically released movies, original series, made-for-cable movies, documentaries, occasional comedy, concert specials and periodic interstitial programs (consisting of short films and making-of documentaries). HBO is the parent network of Cinemax.
HBO aired the Watchmen TV series that ran from October 20-December 15, 2019 with nine episodes.
