Gerald Ford - Watchmen

Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr. is the vice president of the United States to Richard Nixon.

Biography[]

In the early 1970s, one of Richard Nixon's presidential aides accidentally spilled a glass of water and apologized. Gerald Ford replied, "That's ok, nobody's human". After this blunder, Adrian Veidt, in an interview with Nova Express, jokingly referred to Nixon's close aides as "humanoids".

Ford had met Eddie Blake during a banquet held in honor of his service for the United States government.[1]

A picture of them shaking hands at the banquet was founded in Blake's apartment by homicide detective Joe Bourquin of the New York City Police Department in October 1985. He and Steven Fine joked whether they should consider Ford a suspect for Blake's murder.[2]

In November 1985, Ford accompanied President Nixon to NORAD when nuclear war with the Soviet Union nearly became inevitable and stumbled out of Air Force Two.[3]

Trivia[]

  • In reality, Gerald Ford was 38th president of the United States from 1974 to 1977 and before that was the 40th vice president of the United States from 1973-1974 under Richard Nixon.
  • Ford's stumbling in the comic series was a comedic nod to his clumsiness.
