George Gordon Battle Liddy, also known as G. Gordon Liddy, is a former government operative of Richard Nixon.
Biography[]
While working to get Richard Nixon elected president, G. Gordon Liddy received evidence from FBI contacts that Robert F. Kennedy's life was in danger. Liddy presents the evidence to Nixon and his campaign team at the Pied Piper Motel, and Nixon tells him to share the documents with Eddie Blake.
On June 3rd, 1968, Liddy approached Blake at a bar and tells him of the impending assassination attempt on Kennedy's life to be perpetrated by Sirhan Sirhan. Liddy stated that the director of the FBI plans to let the assassination happen so that he can discredit the CIA. Blake agrees to fix the problem.
In 1985, when Doctor Manhattan left for Mars, Liddy was present in the secret headquarters projecting the next moves of the Cold War. In the simulation, he noticed that New York City, Baltimore, Boston and Washington, D.C. would be gone by the Soviet missiles.[1]
When DEFCON 2 was announced later, he was seen with Henry Kissinger in NORAD waiting for Nixon, and asked how is Pat Nixon. He supported the "mad bomber" tactic as analyses showed good percentage in first strike.[2]
