Trivia[]

  • Charlton Studios is based on Marvel Studios and DC Studios, both of which are known for producing superhero films and series for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Extended Universe respectively.
    • With the emergence of real-life superheroes in the late 1930s, coinciding with the genesis of the genre itself, comic book superheroes such as Batman and Superman saw their relevance diminish. Subsequently, the conduct and deeds of subsequent vigilantes led to widespread disillusionment among the public towards the notion of costumed crimefighters in the Watchmen universe. Consequently, pirate adventures seamlessly supplanted fictional superheroes, emerging as the predominant form of escapist fiction within the comic book medium. This trend later extended into various other forms of media and entertainment.
  • Charlton Studios is named after Charlton Comics, who's lineup of superheroes served as the inspiration for the characters that Alan Moore depicted in Watchmen.
