Charlie Greaves followed Rorschach to the third floor of Edgar Jacobi's apartment along with Officer Willis. Greaves said that he was like an animal and usually unarmed. Then Rorschach threw pepper to Willis blinding him, but Greaves couldn't shoot as he was in the way. Rorschach shot him at point-blank range with his gas-powered grappling hook gun while Willis called for him. Greaves' ended up with a shattered sternum, and remained on the hospital’s critical list.
